‘Sons of Guns’ Star Will Hayden Facing Multiple Allegations of Child Sex Abuse
September 11, 2014
Will Hayden, one of the stars of the Discovery Channel’s reality show “Sons of Guns,” is currently facing multiple allegations of child sex abuse and is being held in custody on a $250,000 bond. This scandal first broke in early August when Hayden’s 12-year-old daughter came forward to allege that she had been repeatedly raped by Hayden over the past year. Recently, however, Hayden’s older daughter – Stephanie Hayden Ford who was also featured on “Sons of Guns” – has stepped forward to back up these allegations.
Sons of Guns, which has been canceled by the Discovery Channel in the wake of the child sex abuse allegations levied against Hayden, followed the lives of the employees Red Jacket Firearms, a gunsmith shop in Louisiana.
Details of Hayden’s Alleged Child Sex Abuse
According to the few details that have been made public about the child sex abuse allegations made against Hayden, his younger daughter, who was the first one to step forward with these charges, has claimed that Hayden orally and vaginally raped her “almost daily” since early 2013. She has stated that she did not report the sex abuse after it first started because Hayden had threatened her and she was terrified. This is often a reason that child sex abuse goes unreported, as the subjects of this abuse fear that their abuser will further hurt them or their families if they report the abuse to the authorities.
Although Ford initially supported her father and claimed that, “there was never any impropriety in her home,” she has since recanted these statements and will be meeting with the Baton Rouge Police Department later this week to discuss her victimization at the hands of Hayden.
Hayden’s defense team has tried to dispel these allegations of child sex abuse by claiming that they have been motivated by bitterness and financial interests.
